Steve Younane (Co-founder)

Steve began his retail career at Myer/Grace Bros on the Management Development Program, where he held various roles from Stores Management to Buying during his twelve years with the company. He then joined Nike Australia where he took on the role of Retail Director. Shortly after, Steve was offered the opportunity to move to NIKE’s world headquarters in the U.S. to head up the retail division for North America, including the iconic NIKETOWN flagship stores. After seven years with Nike, Steve moved to eyewear giant Luxottica in Sydney to head up the Sunglass Hut brand and lead the entry of the brand into Asia. Steve then moved to Melbourne three years later to take on the role of CEO for denim specialist Jeanswest, which is now positioned as a key player in the Jeanswear market. He held that position for four years. As Co-founder and CEO of Retail Prodigy Group, Steve has the opportunity to partner once again with the world’s leading sports and fitness brand Nike, and build a unique and distinctive company.

Charlie Baker (Co-founder)

Charlie developed a passion for retail early in his career. Schooled at an upscale Men’s Fashion retailer, he developed a business philosophy centred on creating high-performance teams committed to excellence and delivering world-class customer engagement. Charlie’s love of sports led him to join Nike where he ultimately headed up Nike Global Retail. Following a hugely successful career in Retail and an exciting journey at Retail Prodigy Group, Charlie retired in February 2023 and now resides in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, USA.

“I am really proud to be part of a business that has gone from zero to more than 50 Nike stores in under 5 years—it has been an amazing rocket ride. The journey so far has been rewarding, educational and most importantly fun. But what’s even more exciting is how bright I honestly believe the future is—whether it’s through further store expansion, developing the team or additional brand acquisitions—there is so much to look forward to at Retail Prodigy Group.”
